INDOOR HOCKEY
Experience the thrill of Indoor Field Hockey, a dynamic 5v5 format played on a wooden floor with boards lining the perimeter. This fast-paced game played with a slightly different stick offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your stick skills. At New Heights Field Hockey Club, we have multiple teams at each age level, ensuring there’s a place for everyone. We also offer a dedicated training team for players seeking skill improvement in a less competitive environment. The Indoor season runs from December to mid-February (with possible extension for teams qualifying for the National Indoor Tournament). Tryouts for the season are held in September, giving you a chance to showcase your abilities and secure your spot on our Indoor teams.
Practices take place once per week, starting in late November, allowing ample time for skill development and team cohesion. As for the exciting tournaments, they occur on Saturdays or Sundays in December, January, and February. The tournament locations vary between Pennsylvania and South Jersey, providing diverse competition experiences for different age groups and teams.
SPRING/SUMMER TOURNAMENTS
Join us as we assemble U12, U14, U16, and U19 teams to participate in thrilling one-day tournaments and showcases at renowned colleges such as Princeton, Columbia, Drew, Monmouth, Lafayette, Lehigh, Rutgers, University of Pennsylvania, and more. The schedule varies each year, ensuring a diverse range of competitive opportunities.
To be eligible for these tournaments, you must hold a USA Field Hockey (USAFH) membership and have prior experience playing on a Festival, Indoor, or Disney team. These events serve as excellent recruiting platforms for high school players who are interested in catching the attention of prospective host schools.
Registration and detailed information about these tournaments become available in March. Rosters are assembled on a first-come, first-served basis, so early registration is encouraged to secure your spot. Don’t miss out on the chance to be part of these exciting events that offer invaluable exposure to college recruiters.
APRIL-JUNE
REGIONAL CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
An invitation-only tournament hosted by USA Field Hockey. The RCC is dedicated to U12, U14, U16, and U19 club teams in Region 6.
Unlike the Festival and Disney events where we enter multiple teams, the RCC allows us to field only one team per age group. These teams fiercely compete for a chance to secure a spot in the National Club Championships.
The RCC tournaments take place on weekends in April, May, or June, varying each year for each age group. Usually played on astro turf at respected venues such as Princeton or Monmouth University, these tournaments offer a high level of competition.
To be part of our RCC teams, tryouts are held in late March or early April. We select the strongest players to represent New Heights Field Hockey Club at this prestigious event.
Comprehensive tournament preparation includes focused practices and scrimmages, ensuring our selected players are well-prepared for the challenges of the RCC.
NATIONAL CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
If our New Heights Field Hockey Club team(s) secure first or second place at the Regional Club Championships (RCCs), they earn a coveted spot in the National Club Championships (NCC).
The NCC is a prestigious tournament held either at the Spooky Nook in Manheim, PA, or in Virginia Beach in mid-July. The NCC brings together the crème de la crème of teams from across the country. This highly anticipated tournament attracts hundreds of college coaches, making it a vital opportunity for recruiting and national rankings.
Participating in the NCC is a chance to showcase your skills on a national stage and compete against the very best. It’s an event that holds immense importance for college recruiting and allows players to make their mark on the national field hockey scene.
