OUR SHOWCASES AND TOURNAMENTS
New Heights travel teams are structured to allow players to participate in one or multiple major tournaments. Unlike other travel sports such as basketball and lacrosse, there is not a specific “season” for field hockey.
There are four major field hockey events during the year that we participate in. The National Hockey Festival played over Thanksgiving weekend in Florida, the Disney Showcase played in early February, the Regional Club Championships played in the spring and if we qualify, the National Club Championships played in July.
We have tryouts for the teams for these tournaments and you can tryout for one or all of them. This also allows players to participate in other sports if they choose to. Tryouts for the Festival and Disney teams are held in late May and early June. Tryouts for the RCC teams are in March.

SUNSHINE SHOWCASE AT DISNEY
The Disney Showcase, one of USA Field Hockey’s premier college recruiting events, takes place at the iconic Disney’s Wide World of Sports complex in Orlando, Florida. This prestigious tournament presents an incredible opportunity for players to catch the attention of college recruiters.
At New Heights Field Hockey Club, we field multiple teams at each age level, ensuring ample participation and competitive opportunities for all.
Tryouts for the Disney Showcase teams are held concurrently with the Festival tryouts, typically taking place in late May or early June. This synchronized scheduling allows players to audition for both the Festival and Disney Showcase teams during the same period.
SHOOTING STARS
Shooting Star Tournaments were founded in 2016, when there was a desire in the field hockey community for showcase tournaments on synthetic turf fields. Starting with Thanksgiving in 2016, Shooting Star now hosts 10 tournaments nation-wide, servicing athletes ranging from U10 to Masters (35+).
While expanding, Shooting Star has stayed true to their fundamental values, catering to every athlete, club coach, college coach, umpire, parent and fan – striving to provide a professional, inspiring and authentic experience.
Thanksgiving Weekend
NATIONAL HOCKEY FESTIVAL
USA Field Hockey has partnered with 3STEP Sports to be the official Event Manager of the 2023 National Hockey Festival.
Since 1981, the National Hockey Festival has served generations of athletes, coaches, umpires and families for a fun and competitive weekend of field hockey in sunny Florida.
Traditionally held over Thanksgiving weekend, Festival is one of the most premier events in the youth field hockey landscape, with tournaments selling out within minutes of registration opening.
This partnership brings exciting opportunities and a new location to this year’s Festival. The 2023 National Hockey Festival, powered by 3STEP Sports, will take place at the state-of-the-art Paradise Coast Sports Complex in Naples, Fla., featuring nine turf fields.
The National Hockey Festival is slated for November 24 to 26, 2023 in Florida.
WINTER ESCAPE
NFHCA Winter Escape Showcase runs in partnership with the member coaches of the NFHCA.
This event offers a holistic recruiting experience by providing learning opportunities, position-specific showcases, and, of course, an audience of college field hockey coaches from every level!
